contentCloud | Authoring units | Lock and unlock a unit

When a contentCloud user is editing an authoring unit, it is locked. When the user exits the content editor, the unit is unlocked.

As long as a unit is locked, no other user can work on it, so it's very important to unlock them when we're done our work.

In addition, unlocking a unit generates a new version or backup, which will help us to have adequate control of the changes we make. (See here to know more about the versions).

To unlock a unit we have two modes:

• From the contentCloud editor, by pressing the Exit button in the upper right area.
  
  
• From the Unit Management area, press the "Unlock".
  

• From the unit's options menu.
