How the Editions works for courses?
We have some questions about the functioning of the editions for courses.
I have a plan called "Effective presentations" made up of six courses. When I created the courses, I have activated all the "Announcements" checkbox. Six months later, I update the plan. The upgrade is to add three new courses. In this case, what happens? Students will have passed six courses of the plan and three to be them? The new call would be created automatically to update the plan, since the courses that contain have marked the option "Call" or something must be done? The latter asked it because in addition to the "Announcements" box that appears when you create the course (in the settings section), there is a button "Create announcement" that appears in the "Announcements" tab when you walk into an already created course management. What is the way or correct procedure for creating announcements?
On the other hand, the editions would work also for activities? I.e. it could validate a course activities if they recur in another? For example: course consisting of five activities. I think another course that takes 3 of these five activities (two different). Could the three repeated activities validate?

Good afternoon, sir,
First of all, thank you very much for your questions, I'm going to answer you about them:
Will the students have passed six courses of the plan and will they still have three to do?
Yes, exactly. If the students have the 6 courses of the plan done and you add another three to the plan, they will have them not done. You can configure them as optional or obligatory. If you mark the three new courses as optional, the students will still have that plan completed and will not need to make them.
Would the new call be created automatically when the plan is updated, since the courses they contain have the "Editions" option checked or do I have to do something? We ask this last question because in addition to the "Editions" box that appears when creating the course (in the Settings section), there is a "Create Editions" button that appears in the "Editions" tab when you enter the administration of a course already created. What is the correct way or procedure for creating calls?
Within a plan, in the course section, there is a button for "Add existing course", if you give it you can choose between "Clone course" or "Create a course edition". "Clone course" will create a course identical to the one you have selected and put it into the plan. "Creating a course edition" can have two different behaviors:
If the course you have selected does not have the Editions enabled in its settings section: they will be enabled. Then two editions will be automatically created: one will be to refer to the course you have edited, so that no information is lost (and may or may not be within the same plan or another plan); and the other will be the new edition that will be within your plan.
If the course you have selected already has the Editions enabled in its settings section: simply create one more call within the course and it will be within the plan.
When adding new courses to a plan, it is irrelevant whether the existing courses in the plan have the enabled Editions or not. It only matters if the one you are going to add has them enabled or not.
The Editions themselves should be created from the calls tab of a course. BUT if what you need to do is add calls to a plan, you must do it from the plan as I indicated a little above because you can't create a call directly in the course and then put it in the plan. Note that after hitting "Add existing course" you don't get the calls, only the parent courses.
On the other hand, would the Editions also work for the activities? In other words, could you validate activities from one course if they are repeated in another? For example: a course made up of five activities. I create another course that takes 3 of those five activities (plus two different ones). Could the three repeated activities be validated?
No, you can only validate Editions. I'll give you a brief summary of how validation works:
You have a course with a call and an approved student. The parent course has the option of "validation between Editions" enabled.
You create another call for that course and add the same student --> automatically will have the course "validated".
If the parent course does not have the "validation between Editions" option enabled, you could validate the student manually by going to the student section of the call and in the list you will see an actions column, in the drop-down list there is an option that says "Validate".
This option is always available for all the students of all the Editions.
I hope I have helped you with the doubts.
