SCORM 1.2 format has a limit of 4096 characters in a file that stores data about the user's course (suspend data).

If the course has a large number of slides and SCORM 1.2 format, information about slides viewed after a particular slide in the LMS will not be saved due to this limitation.

Recommendation: expand the suspend data storage to 64,000 characters in the settings of your LMS.

sparral 1 week ago in learningCentral (LMS) 0

Internal name certifications

Francisco Sirvent Vila 1 month ago in learningCentral (LMS) updated by Noelia López Míguez 1 month ago 1

Good morning

We have seen that the pdf of the file takes the name of the certificate from the basic information. The name of the certificate should be something internal for our reference but not for the student.

Are you planning to update this point?

Thank you!

Good morning, Francisco,

The functionality is designed to show in the file the name that the administrator has given to the certificate. There are no plans to change it.

Thank you very much for your question.

Improve the process of evaluation exercises (evaluator)

maria.martinezga 2 months ago in learningCentral (LMS) updated 3 weeks ago 3

We would like that functionality review exercises and return a correction to users by the evaluator was more flexible and usable. We explain why below.

To evaluate an exercise it is necessary:

  • To search for persons who have uploaded an exercise should I press generate report and filter users whose field assistance = Yes, because there is no way to search by other field other than name or login. Another option is to go through pages to find users that have uploaded the exercise or search for it by name / login.
  • After checking file, to perform the evaluation I need to return to the list of students, press Edit evaluation and rescan for the user in the alphabetical listing.
  • To return any comments (e.g. a single phrase) the user must write it to a file and upload it on the screen check file, because comments comments are not displayed to the user.

Proposed changes:

  • Include an Advanced search on the student tab (as there is in the tab evaluations).
  • Power record evaluation (rating, comments) on the same screen where check files. You should not have to browse and find again the user to perform these two actions.
  • Create a feedback for the student, that student may display field. Single file can view the comments from the check screen field if I upload a file.
  • Improve navigation to the list of students from the consultation of files of a student, now there is to click on the details tab and again on the students tab.
  • The student can see its correction as soon as it is registered and not having to wait for the completion of training, the same action that occurs in the performance evaluations.

How the Editions works for courses?

sparral 2 months ago in learningCentral (LMS) updated by Noelia López Míguez 1 month ago 2

We have some questions about the functioning of the editions for courses.

I have a plan called "Effective presentations" made up of six courses. When I created the courses, I have activated all the "Announcements" checkbox. Six months later, I update the plan. The upgrade is to add three new courses. In this case, what happens? Students will have passed six courses of the plan and three to be them? The new call would be created automatically to update the plan, since the courses that contain have marked the option "Call" or something must be done? The latter asked it because in addition to the "Announcements" box that appears when you create the course (in the settings section), there is a button "Create announcement" that appears in the "Announcements" tab when you walk into an already created course management. What is the way or correct procedure for creating announcements?

On the other hand, the editions would work also for activities? I.e. it could validate a course activities if they recur in another? For example: course consisting of five activities. I think another course that takes 3 of these five activities (two different). Could the three repeated activities validate?

ES

Buenas tardes,

Good afternoon, sir,

First of all, thank you very much for your questions, I'm going to answer you about them:

Will the students have passed six courses of the plan and will they still have three to do?

Yes, exactly. If the students have the 6 courses of the plan done and you add another three to the plan, they will have them not done. You can configure them as optional or obligatory. If you mark the three new courses as optional, the students will still have that plan completed and will not need to make them.

Would the new call be created automatically when the plan is updated, since the courses they contain have the "Editions" option checked or do I have to do something? We ask this last question because in addition to the "Editions" box that appears when creating the course (in the Settings section), there is a "Create Editions" button that appears in the "Editions" tab when you enter the administration of a course already created. What is the correct way or procedure for creating calls?
Within a plan, in the course section, there is a button for "Add existing course", if you give it you can choose between "Clone course" or "Create a course edition". "Clone course" will create a course identical to the one you have selected and put it into the plan. "Creating a course edition" can have two different behaviors:

If the course you have selected does not have the Editions enabled in its settings section: they will be enabled. Then two editions will be automatically created: one will be to refer to the course you have edited, so that no information is lost (and may or may not be within the same plan or another plan); and the other will be the new edition that will be within your plan.

If the course you have selected already has the Editions enabled in its settings section: simply create one more call within the course and it will be within the plan.

When adding new courses to a plan, it is irrelevant whether the existing courses in the plan have the enabled Editions or not. It only matters if the one you are going to add has them enabled or not.

The Editions themselves should be created from the calls tab of a course. BUT if what you need to do is add calls to a plan, you must do it from the plan as I indicated a little above because you can't create a call directly in the course and then put it in the plan. Note that after hitting "Add existing course" you don't get the calls, only the parent courses.

On the other hand, would the Editions also work for the activities? In other words, could you validate activities from one course if they are repeated in another? For example: a course made up of five activities. I create another course that takes 3 of those five activities (plus two different ones). Could the three repeated activities be validated?

No, you can only validate Editions. I'll give you a brief summary of how validation works:

You have a course with a call and an approved student. The parent course has the option of "validation between Editions" enabled.

You create another call for that course and add the same student --> automatically will have the course "validated".

If the parent course does not have the "validation between Editions" option enabled, you could validate the student manually by going to the student section of the call and in the list you will see an actions column, in the drop-down list there is an option that says "Validate".

This option is always available for all the students of all the Editions.

I hope I have helped you with the doubts.

Content of the app as completed

Sergio Ruiz de Leon Almuedo 2 months ago in learningCentral (LMS) updated by Noelia López Míguez 1 month ago 2

Good morning

We are using the mobile app to make a program of onbording to the company. We have a collection that encompasses all the courses and activities.

We will use a generic user, i.e., that all those who enter will have to enter the same username and password, as as they have not yet joined the company, they would not have own profile.

The problem is that as soon as the first user gets and complete content, this course is already listed in gray and puts "overcome". Can do even if you complete the course, never appear as completed and grey image, so that whenever a user will get displayed without doing?

I attached a screenshot of some contents without complete and others listed as completed.

If I have not explained well, or you have any questions tell me.

Good morning Sergio,

I'm afraid that behavior is not possible. When a student passes a course, it is visualized as completed.

We recommend that you create a user for each person who needs to do the course.

Thank you very much for your question, I hope I was able to help you.

Configuración de créditos del curso

maria.martinezga 2 months ago in learningCentral (LMS) updated by Ntx Support (Customer support agent) 2 months ago 2

Hola,

Answer

The courses do not have the option to configure the credits. This option is present in the edition options of the activities.

Once you have the activities integrated in the course you can configure the credits in Edit details, which will open the Details tab and where you will see the Basic information section that contains the Credits option.

You can see more information about it in the manual:

Differences between clone a course and create a call.

maria.martinezga 3 months ago in learningCentral (LMS) updated by Noelia López Míguez 3 months ago 6

Hello. I've created a plan and when insert an existing course asks me if I want to clone it or create a edition. I see no clear difference (I need to know what is better in this scenario).

Doing this, I've set up a course as it supports editions and now I would like to remove this option. How can I do it?

Answer

Hello Maria,

If you clone a course you are going to duplicate, so you would have two separate courses that are exactly the same, but you could modify each one as you want to adapt them to what you need (for example, adding activities, changing the prerequisites between activities).

If you add it as a edition it will not duplicate but will enable the editions of the course you are adding and will be included in the plan as a edition of the original course. This allows a course to have many editions, and, if you wanted to, you could have each edition in a different plan. It is important to bear in mind that the structure of the course (activities, prerequisites between activities) will be the same for all the editions, what changes is the state of each one of them (if it is in draft, open, closed), the students that you have, tutors, if it is in a plan or not.

Once configured the option of the editions you cannot deactivate it in the course "origin".

Thank you very much for your question, I hope I was able to help you.

Greetings.
